(Sep. 6, 2004) - Finland 2 Germany 1 - Mikko Eloranta tipped in a shot past Olaf Kolzig with just 3:22 left in the third period to lead the Finns to a hard-fought 2-1 win over Germany.

(Sep. 3, 2004) - It took three games, but Jaromir Jagr and the Czech Republic finally picked up their first win. Jagr was one of seven different goal scorers in a 7-2 rout over winless Germany.

(Sep. 2, 2004) - Miikka Kiprusoff posted his second shutout in as many games and Teemu Selanne and Nashville Predators defenseman Kimmo Timonen each had a power-play goal and an assist as Finland posted a 3-0 victory over Germany at the Cologne Arena.

(Aug. 31, 2004) - In Stockholm, Sweden, hometown hero Mats Sundin had one goal and two assists, leading Sweden to a 5-2 victory over Germany.

(Aug. 26, 2004) - Olli Jokinen and Ville Peltonen of the Florida Panthers scored two goals apiece Thursday, leading Finland to a 4-2 victory over Germany in a World Cup of Hockey exhibition game.  Jochen Hecht of the Buffalo Sabres and Christoph Schubert of the Ottawa Senators scored for Germany.  Germany starts round robin action on Tuesday in Stockholm against Sweden.

(Aug. 25, 2004) - In Cologne, Germany, the Czech Republc routed host Germany, 7-4.

(Aug 22, 2004) - Christian Ehrhoff scored the equalizer with 16:02 to play in the third period as Germany rallied to tie Russia 3-3 in exhibition action.  Sergei Samsonov opened the Russian account at 6:32 of the first period. Marcel Goc tied the match 6:29 into the second period, but Russia answered back at 8:47 when Dmitre Avanasenkov scored. Alexander Frolov extended the Russian lead to 3-1 at 10:13.  Goc gave the Germans fresh hope a mere four minutes later to set up Erhoff's third-period heroics.  Germany outshot Russia, 16-8.
