RULES & SCORING

Hello, uLAr here, welcoming you to Puckin' Around's Annual Playoff Pool.  This is Year 3 for the Pool, and as always, it promises to be one of the toughest Pools to win!  Adam won it all the first year, and I took the honors last year.
 

Do you think you have what it takes to be this year's champion?
 

We've made quite a few changes this year.  Here's how it works:
 

 
PICKS

 

- You will be asked to make picks for every Round of the Playoffs.  You can either come to the site to make your selections, or fill out the form that will be e-mailed to you.
- At the beginning of Round 1, you will be asked to choose the following:
    * Stanley Cup Champion (10 pts)
    * Eastern Conference Champion (5pts)
    * Western Conference Champion (5pts)
    * A player for each team represented in the Playoffs (see below for pts)
    * A goalie for each Conference (see below for pts)
    * Your predictions for Round 1 results [winning team in how many games]
     (see below for pts)
- After Round 1 is complete, you will be asked to choose:
    * Your predictions for Round 2 results [winning team in how many games]
     (see below for pts)
- The same thing will follow for Round 3 & Round 4.

NOTE:  Your Stanley Cup Champion does not have to be a team you chose as East/West Champion.  You only get to pick these at the beginning of Round 1.  If your team is eliminated at the end of Round 1, so is your pick.

RULES
 

  1. Only ONE entry per person

  2. Your picks must be submitted to us by the deadline, which will be no later than MIDNIGHT on April 7, 2004.  Unlike in other years, NO ENTRIES will be accepted past the deadline, NO EXCEPTIONS.

  3. In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker will first go to the person who has correctly picked the Stanley Cup Champions.  If still tied, the person with the most correct picks as far as winning teams in correct amount of games will be declared champion.  If still tied, the person who has the highest goaltending score will be declared champion of the Pool.

  4. Although we participate, Adam & I (uLAr) are not eligible for the prize.  Should one of us win, prize will be awarded to person who did best in the Pool.

 
PRIZE
 
As always, only ONE prize will be awarded, just like in the Playoffs.  You get NOTHING for coming in second place, like the Mighty Ducks last year !
While the prize is still yet to be determined, we can tell you that it will include a signed puck from a member of the 1986 Stanley Cup winning Montreal Canadiens team, not to mention you'll earn bragging rights for the entire summer!  More to follow as things develop ...
